Fianna Fáil TD for Dublin Mid-West, John Curran is urging local clubs and organisations in Dublin Mid-West to be mindful of the deadlines and closing dates for this year’s round of Sports Capital Funding.
The 2017 Sports Capital Programme will be open for applications from 9am on Monday 23 January 2017. The strict deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 24 February 2017.
The deadline for registration is 5pm on Friday 10th February 2017. If your organisation is not registered on OSCAR www.sportscapitalprogramme.ie by February 10th, you will be unable to make an application.
Commenting on the programme Deputy Curran said, “The Sports Capital Programme aims to foster an integrated and planned approach to developing sports and physical recreation facilities throughout the country.
“The Sports Grant enables sports and community groups and associations nationwide to apply for essential funding to assist them with maximising participation in physical education. This funding is crucial and helps improve sports clubs and other facilities which are of huge benefit to teenagers and clubs throughout Dublin Mid-West.
“The Minister must guarantee that this funding is provided as a matter of urgency in order to recognise the positive impact that this much needed funding has had all over Ireland. Various sports clubs and organisations have been waiting on investment to progress with plans and proposals to upgrade or develop facilities. A major push is required to ensure we do not leave these clubs and organisations in limbo for a second year running,” concluded Deputy Curran.
