Fianna Fáil General Election Candidate for Clare, Cllr. Cathal Crowe has welcomed the jobs announcement that will see over 150 new jobs created at an Obama Plaza styled service station on the Clare-Limerick Border.
Cllr. Crowe was commenting after it was announced that a new multi-million euro development would be constructed at a site adjacent to the Coonagh Roundabout and the Clondrinagh Business Park.
“There will be 100 jobs created during the construction phase in addition to 50 permanent jobs when the service station is opened. It is expected that the service station will be open on a 24/7 basis with a restaurant open from 6am to 10pm daily.
“This is a great development as it is located close to the new Coonagh Cross LIT campaign which is due to open in 2019, and a new 120 bed nursing home at the old Two Mile Inn Hotel site.
“In light of works starting on Phase 1 of the Limerick Northern Distributor Road (LNDR) which will eventually link both the M18 and M7 motorways through South Clare, this new development will be a very welcome and worthy addition to the local area.
“I look forward to seeing progress on this development over the next number of months. Those of us who live in South East Limerick know all too well the value of having a 24/7 service station,” concluded Crowe.
