Fianna Fáil MEP Pat the Cope Gallagher has today welcomed the decision by the European Parliament to approve Kevin Cardiff’s nomination to the European Court of Auditors. The European Parliament in Strasbourg today voted to support Mr. Cardiff’s nomination by 521 in favour, 128 against.
 
Pat the Cope Gallagher MEP said today: “I voted to support Mr. Cardiff in the budgetary control committee. I am pleased that he has now received the support of the European Parliament as he is eminently qualified and competent to fulfil the position in the Court of Auditors.”
 
“I have always acted in the national interest in the European Parliament in the past, present and I will do so into the future. This relates to many issues from protecting the interests of Irish fishermen and coastal communities, Irish farmers and rural communities or peace funding for the border region.”
