Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Justice Niall Collins has welcomed reports that Willie Frazer has cancelled the loyalist protest planned in Dublin this coming Saturday.

Deputy Collins said, “I am pleased that Mr Frazer has heeded my and other calls to think again about this protest.  It was ill-judged and had potentially serious consequences.  It will come as a relief to many people that it is now not going ahead this weekend, not least Dublin City Centre’s retailers.

“It’s reported that Mr Frazer is now considering alternative dates for his protest. I would suggest that rather than doing this, he should put his energy into explaining his case in a calm and respectful way.  If Mr Frazer is interested in such an approach, I would be happy to meet with him and hear what he has to say.”
