Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs & Trade Niall Collins
has expressed his shock and sadness following the killing of at least
forty-nine people at two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch.

Deputy Collins said, “I want to express my condolences, and those of my Party
colleagues to the victims, their families and loved ones. This horrific and
brutal assassination of innocent people at their place of worship is truly
shocking.

“I have also contacted New Zealand’s Ambassador to Ireland to express our
sympathy.

“Such radical and violent extremism is a growing danger in our world and every
nation must play its part in rooting it out”, concluded Deputy Collins.
