Fianna Fáil TD for Kildare South Fiona O’Loughlin has welcomed the merger of North Kildare Chamber of Commerce and Newbridge Chamber of Commerce. Deputy O’Loughlin says the move will enable Kildare to attract greater inward investment in the years ahead.
Deputy O’Loughlin said, “The decision to create a single county-wide Chamber of Commerce for Kildare is a positive development. It will enable businesses in Kildare to act with a single voice which in turn will streamline the process for attracting greater investment into the county.
“This merger has been in the works for quite some time and there has been a lot of hard work ongoing in recent months to make it a reality. It demonstrates that businesses from across Kildare are willing to work together to secure the best interests of the entire county.
“The new Chamber of Commerce contains a number of high profile multinationals amongst its membership. I’m hopeful that the chamber can use its contacts within these companies to secure a greater level of multinational investment in Kildare. This will undoubtedly have a positive spin off effect for domestic companies.
“I wish President Vivian Cummins, Vice President Sean Dunne, CEO Allan Shine, staff and committee members the very best as they start on this exciting journey,” concluded Deputy O’Loughlin.
