Fianna Fáil Senator for Meath East, Thomas Byrne has today congratulated Ratoath native, Ciaran Fitzgerald who was elected as the National Events Director of Ógra Fianna Fáil at the National Youth Conference of the party in the Silver Springs Hotel, Cork City at the weekend. 
Fitzgerald, curently serves as chairperson of the Ratoath Fianna Fáil person, is a graduate of UCD and has been involved in Fianna Fáil for the past three years. He beat off stiff competition from Ray O’Mahony from Cork South Central Ógra Fianna Fáil in this national election. 
‘I am thrilled that Ciaran’s hard work has been recognised by his fellow members of Ógra Fianna Fáil. I know that he will do an excellent job in organising national, regional and local events for Ógra members’ added Senator Byrne. 
‘This was my last National Youth Conference as Cathaoirleach Ógra and it gave me great hope for the future of the party to see over 300 delegates from across the island with a large contingent from Meath East in attendance’ 
‘With some lively debate on a wide variety of social and economic motions, Ógra Fianna Fáil is committed to revitalising Fianna Fáil and ensuring that the voices of the young people of the party and the country at large will be heard’ added Byrne.
