Local Fianna Fáil Public Representatives for South Meath, Senator Thomas Byrne and Cllr. Noel Leonard are calling on Meath County Council to finalise all matters relating to the water tower in Dunshaughlin as a matter of urgency.
The water tower which has been more or less built for the past three years is still not operational and it is causing significant water pressure issues for residents in outlying parts of Dunshaughlin.
‘It has gotten to a situation where water is being taken from Drogheda to service the needs of local people in Dunshaughlin’ said Cllr. Noel Leonard.
‘This position is completely untenable in the long term and the County Council need to act fast on this issue as we approach the summer months where there could be pressure on water’ said Senator Byrne.
‘I am confident that this matter can be resolved within the next number of weeks but I will continue to keep the pressure on to ensure that it is fixed as soon as possible’ concluded Cllr. Leonard.
