Kerry Fianna Fáil TD, John Brassil has said that the announcement of 100 new jobs at Central Pharma’s new development in Tralee is a great boost for the town a week before Christmas.
Deputy Brassil was speaking after attending the official announcement this morning by Alwyn Smith, the company CEO and Martin Shanahan, IDA Chief Executive.
The company will establish a new factory focusing on packaging, labelling and life sciences at Tralee’s Advance Manufacturing Facility which has been lying vacant for the past two years.
“This is great news just a week before Christmas, and it’s clear that Central Pharma have seen in Tralee an ideal site to locate and to plan for future growth.
“The Advanced Manufacturing Facility is a top quality location for this type of investment, there is ample room for growth which I know the company were very keen on, and importantly there is a strong supply of skilled local life science graduates through its connection to IT, Tralee.
“As a pharmacist, the focus being put on packaging and labelling by the company is very important, as it is essential for patient safety,” concluded Brassil.
