The 78ú Fianna Fáil Ard Fheis will take place on 13th & 14th October 2017 in the RDS, Dublin. This will be a voting Ard Fheis.
It is now over one year since Fianna Fáil agreed to facilitate a Fine Gael led minority government in the interest of stability in Ireland. We are prepared to honour our agreement in terms of the three budgets and in terms of getting delivery on the issues that are in the agreement.
Fianna Fáil has been upfront about the Confidence and Supply Arrangement and we have honoured our commitments.
However, we believe that there should be a far greater degree of proactivity on a range of policy issues to improve people’s lives. It is now a year following the Brexit result and Ireland is facing a once in a generation challenge. Ireland needs to do more to protect our Agri-food sector and our ability to trade and export to the UK and other EU countries.Ireland also needs to avail more of the opportunities Brexit presents and do more to attract companies to relocate here from the UK.
We need more investment in infrastructure to be Brexit ready and Fianna Fáil believes that any proceeds from selling 25% of AIB should be reinvested in the country’s infrastructure. Communities are still struggling to make ends meet and are still not able to access services that they need in housing, health and education. This has to change.
Fianna Fáil can and will deliver these changes with your involvement.
We hope you will be in a position to attend the 78ú Ard Fheis and we look forward to meeting you in the RDS where these and other issues will be debated and discussed in detail.
