Cork North-Central TD Billy Kelleher has praised management and staff at Apple in Hollyhill for delivery a major expansion of the company, creating an additional 1,000 jobs.

Deputy Kelleher said: “This is great news for Cork and great news for Apple staff.  This will increase the number of jobs at Apple in Cork to 6,000 in 2017 and cements Cork’s position in Apple’s global footprint.

“Management and staff in Hollyhill have worked tirelessly to strengthen the operation in Cork and this expansion is all down to them.  Apple has been in Cork for 35 years.  It has weathered storms and remains committed to its long-term future here.  I am delighted to see this expansion and hope Apple continues to go from strength to strength.”
