A Shared Island Dialogue, on “Learning from each other – the future of education on a shared island”, is being held online on Friday, 1 October from 10am-1.30pm

The Dialogue is part of the Government’s Shared Island initiative, and will bring together education and civil society stakeholders, from North and South, to discuss opportunities, as well as challenges, for deeper cooperation on the island across a range of education, higher and further education, skills and research areas.
The Dialogue will be split into two sessions focusing on Higher and Further Education in the morning and Primary and Post-Primary Education after the break. Minister of State with responsibility for Skills and Further Education, Niall Collins, TD will open the morning session and Minister for Education, Norma Foley, TD will open the afternoon session on behalf of the Government.
The Dialogue features three interactive panels on the themes of Enhancing education accessibility on a shared island; Matching skills needs with opportunities across the island; and Addressing educational underachievement on the island. There will also be an In-Depth View discussion with younger generation representatives on the theme Innovative connections on a shared island.
