Personal Details

My name is Tom Murphy and I have lived in the Sandyford area all my life. I went to school at Our Lady of the Wayside Kilternan and St. Benildus College Kilmacud. I have a long standing association with local sporting clubs and organisations. I played football with Stars of Erin, Wayside Celticand Sandyford and I am currently an assistant coach at DeLa Salle Palmerstown. I am married to Carmen and have three children. I run a small family Stone business in the area. My late father Jim Murphy was a local Fianna Fail County Councillor for the area for many years.

Tom is seeking your support in the upcoming local elections He's standing for the election because he wants to work actively to improve Glencullen Ward Local Area and County. He believes the Council Must provide a better and more efficient service both to local people and to businesses.   • Relax planning restrictions on improvements of farmyard facilities and diversification of farmyard activities

  • To promote and support the building of nursing and care homes and sheltered accommodation, to cater for the present and future requirements of elderly members of our community
  • To keep commercial rates down and protect jobs
  • To improve local community, leisure and sporting facilities for all
  • Better coordination of road works to speed up projects and reduce inconvenience to residents
  • Promote local tourism in a manner which respects and observes the rights of landowners
