Personal Details

Paul was educated at De La Salle Primary School, Beneavin College Secondary School and the National College of Ireland. His family has lived in Finglas for almost 50 years. Both grandparents settled here when Finglas was only a small village on the outskirts of Dublin. Before becoming involved in politics, Paul was principally involved in the Finglas no-name Club for a ten year period dealing with young people in the area and giving them skills to develop as young adults, helping them resist peer pressures of alcohol and drugs. He is committed to youth development work and recognises it as an important tool to empower young people. He is currently Chairperson of the Kilmore West Youth Project.

Work starts to repair pyrite homes in Ballymun – McAuliffe

This week residents in the remaining Ballymun flats on Silloge Road received news that following extensive discussions between Ballymun Regeneration and James Elliott Construction a new contractual agreement for the completion of the housing scheme in Silloge (which faces on to Poppintree Park) was signed on Tuesday 18th October 2011. The original building programme ground to a halt when Pyrite was discovered and the new homes have lay empty ever since.A report was presented to the Oireachtas this week which predicted the cost of repairing the pyrite problem in a number of Ballymun's would amount to €10.5 million. McAullife to seek assurances on Ballymun Motor Tax Office

Fianna Fáil Councillor for Ballymun and Finglas, Paul Mcauliffe is to seek assurances from council officals that the Ballymun motor taxation office will remain open for business. The move follows Dublin City Council's decision to close the Nutgrove Motor Tax Office at the end of this year. "The motor tax office is a key tenant in the new Ballymun Civic Office buildings and its loss would undermine the regeneration project which the City Council is sponsoring. Political Record

Paul McAuliffe was elected to Dublin City Council on the 6th of June 2009 where he serves as a Fianna Fáil Councillor for the Ballymun - Finglas ward.

As a member of the Council he has been appointed to the Lord Mayor's Commission on Employment, the Committee on Planning & Economic Development and the Committee on Housing. He was also elected as the Chairperson of the local Joint Policing Committee.

Before his election he served as a political and communications advisor to a wide range of organisations and individuals, including The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, the former leaders of the Progressive Democrats Michael Mc Dowell & Mary Harney and a number of commercial organisations.
