Paddy Bracken of Garoon, Mountmellick, has been a member of Mountmellick Town Council since 1987 and is currently its Chair for the third time. He has been a member of Laois County Council since October 2003. He is currently a full time public representative and an active member of various voluntary organisations in Mountmellick. Paddy is looking forward to serving the people of the Mountmellick electoral area for the next five years.

In June 2009, he was re-elected to Mountmellick Electoral Area for Laois County Council and to Mountmellick Town Council.
