Personal Details

Michael McNamara is a native of Achill Sound. His father Michael McNamara is from Pollagh and his mother Mary Ellen Ginnelly is a native of Dooega. He is married to Mary Grealis, formerly of Dooniver and they have three in family: Maeibh, Conall and Caoimhe. Michael is a Post Primary Teacher employed by Mayo VEC as VTOS Co-Ordinator of Further Education Centre at Derreens, Achill. • Member of County Mayo Vocational Educational Committee; • Member of Mayo Sports Partnership; • Member of Roads and Transportation Strategic Policy Committee; • Member of County Enterprise Board; • Member of Erris Leader; • Board Member of Achill Tourism; • Board Member of Comhlacht Forbartha Aitiϊil Acla; • Chairman of Achill Community Games; • Member of Achill GAA and Manager of Intermediate Team. As a member of Achill GAA team Michael has worked to ensure that this club has continues to make advances both with development of Club facilities and on the playing field.
