Mark Daly was elected to Seanad Éireann on the Administrative Panel in July 2007. Spokesperson for Overseas Development. Since his election to Seanad Éireann Senator Daly has been appointed as Senate Spokesperson on Overseas Development and Deputy Government Spokesperson on Innovation, Office of Public Works and Youth Affairs. He is also a member of the Joint Oireachtas Foreign Affairs Committee and a member of the Foreign affairs Committee on Human Rights. In February 2008 Senator Daly travelled to the Middle East as part of the Irish all party parliamentary delegation to Israel and the West Bank, meeting with all the main participants in the conflict as well as Irish and International non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
