Political Record

Cyprian Brady TD has been involved in the Dublin Central constituency for many years. He was appointed to Seanad Eireann in 2002. During his tenure in the Senate, he was spokesperson on Environment and Local Government and had special responsibility for Community Affairs and Drugs Strategy. As a result of his many years involved with groups and organisations working on the frontline of the fight against the scourge of drug abuse, he is determined to ensure that every Department and agency continues to invest in ridding society of drug pushers, and that facilities and treatment programmes are available to addicts wishing to beat the habit. He is also a long time member of the North Inner City Drugs Task Force.

He was elected to Dáil Eireann in 2007. He is currently Vice Chair of the Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment and is also a member of the Committee on Arts, Sports, Tourism, Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs and the Committee on Social and Family Affairs.

Personal Details

Cyprian is married with two children. Educated at St. Josephs CBS Fairview. Employed in various Government Departments including Education, Social Welfare, Finance and Taoiseach’s Department. Eldest of nine children, mother and father both from Dublin. He was honoured to be elected to Dáil Eireann in 2007, and has worked hard to bring about tangible improvements in the Dublin Central Constituency. He looks forward to continuing to represent the views of his constituents.
