-To Develop and maintain self sufficient Communities
I believe strongly in the creation of self-sufficient communities around our villages and neighbourhoods. This includes good quality amenities in the localities, including; playgrounds, homes and facilities for the elderly, sports facilities and youth centres , this in turn helps strengthen community bonds and quality of life for all.
-Continuing development of roads and public transport links in the area
Developing good public roads and public transport links is vital to provide adequate transport options for everyone in my constituency.
-An Energetic voice for the local person
I strive for equality for all my constituents and I strongly believe that everyone has the right to be heard and peoples views and issues important to them need to be heard and acted on. As a full time councillor I am dedicated to being the voice of the local person.
-Infastructure
Day to day needs are a priority for all of us, dealing with planning issues, sewage and water schemes are part of my everyday job and I appreciate that these fundamental issues are big issues for everyone at some stage in their lives.
-The Irish language and the Gaelteacht
I believe strongly in developing and helping to keep the Gaelteacht and our language alive. Being brought up and living in the Gealteacht has made me realise how important our native language is as part of our identity.
-Education
One of my main priorities is education and I believe that adequate provision of quality school premises and facilities are vital for learning and keeping up with new advances in education .
-Creation of jobs and continuing support for back to education schemes
I support the development of schemes such as Fás and back to education schemes. These are fundamentally vital in order to keep unemployment as low as possible. Education and retraining in today’s world is an ongoing necessity with advancing technologies and changes.
-Macroom as a National priority
To get Macroom town and surrounding areas back as a National priority.
