Pat Carey was asked by the Taoiseach to join his cabinet team in March of this year. He is now looking for your ideas and your views on matters relating to his role as Minister for Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs.

About Pat Carey

First elected in 1997, Pat is a Fianna Fáil deputy for Dublin North West. He was appointed Minister for Community, Equality & Gaeltacht Affairs in March of this year. He previously held the position of Government Chief Whip.

He also previously served as Minister of State at the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs with responsibility for the National Drugs Strategy and Community Affairs. Some of his other previous roles include: Co-Chair of the British Irish Inter Parliamentary Body, Vice-chair of Oireachtas committee on Foreign Affairs, member of the Forum on Europe, and alternative member to the Convention on the Future of Europe.
