Welcome relief for Laois towns with opening of motorway – Fleming

Local Fianna Fáil TD Sean Fleming has welcomed the opening of the new motorway between Portlaoise and Cullohill (on the Cork road) and Portlaoise and Borris-in-Ossory (Limerick Road).

“This new motorway will provide welcome relief for Mountrath, Borris-in-Ossory, Abbeyleix and Durrow. It will take heavy juggernauts and other traffic out of the towns.”

“It is also a good opportunity for local businesses to expand now that local people can come back into the towns.”

“I have been very impressed by the positive attitude of people in the affected towns in improving their business environment.”

“It will be great for local people to once again to get through their local towns without major hold-ups. This will also make it safer for local people, motorists and pedestrians. Overall a good day for Co. Laois,” concluded Deputy Fleming.
