Troy condemns Longford robbery

Longford / Westmeath Fianna Fáil TD Robert Troy has condemned this afternoon’s armed robbery in County Longford.

Deputy Troy said: “News of this afternoon’s robbery at the post office in Edgeworthstown has shocked the town.

“I am very concerned by reports that the assailants were armed with a sledgehammer and a shotgun and a customer was injured.  This is extremely serious and it is a miracle that no-one was very seriously injured.

“I fully support the Gardaí in their investigation and appeal for witnesses and I am urging anyone with information to contact them.”
