Treacy encourages County Galway students to enter Junior Inventor Competition

Galway East Fianna Fáil Dáil Deputy Noel Treacy TD is encouraging primary level students in County Galway to enter the Junior Inventor Competition run by the Irish Patents Office.

 

 

“The aim of the Junior Inventor Competition is to encourage students to be innovative and to sow the seeds of interest in science and engineering at an early age,” Deputy Treacy said.

 

 

“There are two categories; one from first class to third class and another from fourth class to sixth class.”

 

 

“Prizes will be awarded in both categories and the people placed first in each of the categories will also win a prize for their school.”

 

 

“Students can enter an idea or invention for a new product, an improvement on an existing product, or any idea that solves a problem or makes like easier for people.”

 

 

“All County Galway primary schools in will receive information about the competition and details are also be available on the Patents Office website at http:/www.patentsoffice.ie.”

 

 

“The closing date for entries is Friday March 26th at 5.30pm and the address to send entries to is Junior Inventor 2010, Patents Office, Government Buildings, Hebron Road, Kilkenny.”

 

 

“I would like to encourage all primary level students in County Galway to get their thinking caps on and to consider entering this innovative competition,” concluded Noel Treacy TD.
