Smyth welcomes funding of €700,000 for Laragh NS

Local Fianna Fail Councillor for Laragh, Niamh Smyth has today welcomed the €700,000 funding for Laragh National School announced by An Tanaiste and Minister for Education and Skills, Mary Coughlan TD.

Speaking after the announcement, Cllr. Smyth said "this is a great day for the pupils, teachers, parents and local community of Laragh. As both a local representative, member of Cavan VEC and a former teacher, I am conscious of the pivitol role local schools play in our communities"

"Having the best possible facilities for our schools is vital in preparing our young people for the future. I want to congratulate the local community who have worked tirelessly in seeking this funding and to my Fianna Fail colleague, Minister Coughlan for approving this funding. I will continue to lobby hard for funding measures as this for other schools and educational facilities in the county" concluded Cllr. Smyth.
