Mr Brendan Smith TD, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has warmly welcomed the decision by Compton Greaves (formerly Pauwels Trafo), Cavan Town, to recruit an additional 21 employees.
Minister Smith stated that these new jobs will bring the total employment at the factory to 430 workers and the new employees will be recruited very shortly.
The Cavan/Monaghan Fianna Fáil TD complimented the Company on its major investment in Cavan over the years and the very valuable employment that it provides.
Minister Smith added that both An Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Ms Mary Coughlan TD and himself had met with the Proprietors of this major International Company and Mr James McMahon, Managing Director, Pauwels Trafo, Cavan, in mid-December to discuss a range of issues. At that meeting the Company’s Senior Management had outlined to both An Tánaiste and Minister Smith their long-term commitment to Ireland and their proposal to increase employment.
