Press Release: Roads

Posted on 27/05/09 by Martin Miley Jnr Over the last number of months the roads in the vicinity of the new M9 been constructed have deteriorated rapidly.

This deterioration has happened because of the use of these roads by traffic serving the new motorway.

I am calling on Kildare County Council and the NRA to put funding aside to reinstate these roads.

It is extremely disappointing to see these roads in such a poor state at present.

A number of these roads are in rural areas but the village of Ballitore in particular has been hit enormously by this construction traffic.

The main road down through the village which Kildare County Council have spent over €250,000 on traffic calming measures through the village also has deteriorated rapidly.

I am extremely disappointed with this and I am calling on the contractor, the NRA and Kildare County Council to address this problem immediately
