O’Connor welcomes new community officer role in hospital

Dublin South West T.D. Charlie O’Connor has welcomed the decision of Tallaght Hospital to appoint a Director of Community Intervention.

“The Chief Executive of Tallaght Hospital, Professor Kevin Conlon, has confirmed to me that the Hospital is currently finalising details for the position of Director of Community Intervention,” said Deputy O’Connor who is a member of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children.

“I’m delighted about this. I’ve long been urging Tallaght Hospital to reach out more to the community and it’s very good that the hospital is moving in this direction now.”

“I hope this will improve the flow of information to the community about services at the hospital and improve communications with the community.”

“The hospital plays a huge and vital role in Tallaght as people know.  It’s because of that that we need a strong relationship between the community and the hospital structures,” concluded Deputy O’Connor.
