Dublin South West T.D. Charlie O’Connor has secured over €6,000 for Tallaght Home Help in the latest round of grants under the Scheme of Community Support for Older People.
“I’m delighted to say the Minister for Community, Equality & Gaeltacht Affairs Pat Carey has confirmed to me that Tallaght Home Help is to receive €6,130 under the Scheme of Community Support for Older People,” said Deputy O’Connor.
“This a great boost for older people in Tallaght. The scheme has been funding equipment to improve safety and security in the homes of older people.”
“Funding is available towards the cost of putting in monitored personal alert systems, monitored smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, external lighting for security and internal lighting for emergencies.”
“Minister Carey has shown a tremendous commitment to Tallaght and has visited Tallaght communities a number of times since taking up his new post in March. The Minister’s portfolio covers quite a few projects and community schemes across Tallaght and I know he will continue to be committed to Tallaght into the future,” concluded Deputy O’Connor.
