Dublin South West T.D. Charlie O’Connor has secured a commitment of over €200,000 for two projects under the Community Services Programme.
“I’m delighted to say that Fettercairn Community Enterprise Co Ltd is being allocated €136,681.50 to continue the employment of more than 5 people as part of a contract renewal for a further three years.”
“Tallaght Rehabilitation Project, based at Kiltalow House, has also been approved €70,066 over the period to support two staff.”
“This funding has been approved by the Minister for Social Protection Éamon Ó Cuív and includes three years funding (2011-2013) from the Community Services Programme.”
The Community Services Programme is designed to work in partnership with local service providers where gaps are identified in the services or where there is not enough demand for services that would normally be provided by the public or private sector.
Each supported organisation must also generate additional income by way of service fees, trading and/or fundraising.
“These projects are hugely important in Tallaght and I’m delighted that they have certainty for the next couple of years. At present, the Community Services Programme supports 2,700 people in employment, delivering a wide range of essential services,” concluded Deputy O’Connor.
