Dublin North T.D. Darragh O’Brien has described the announcement that 500 full-time jobs are being created at Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport as a “major boost for North Dublin and the economy.”
Commenting on the news Deputy O’Brien said: “This is a very positive and welcome announcement for the local and national economy. Terminal 2 is a world-class piece of infrastructure and will transform the travelling experience.”
“The details of the new jobs are available on www.daa.ie.”
“T2 will open in November; construction is effectively complete and testing of the terminal is getting underway.”
“The new terminal will be a major asset to the country and is providing much needed employment opportunities in the North Dublin area. More than 500 jobs have been announced today, on top of the 400 jobs announced earlier this year which will be created in the new retails units in the terminal.”
“When you consider that part-time and more flexible positions are likely in T2, the total number of people employed will be over a thousand. I’ve been in regular contact with the DAA and I know they’re working round the clock to ensure the Terminal is fully operational for passenger traffic in November,” concluded Deputy O’Brien.
