Local Minister Noel Dempsey, T.D. today welcomed the announcement of 30 new jobs in Navan, Co. Meath.
Speaking today Minister Dempsey said: “This is a great boost for Navan and for the entire county. Generali PanEurope said today it would create 30 jobs in Navan and hopes to boost the group’s Irish workforce by up to 50 per cent in future months. They will also acquire a new business site from IDA Ireland in the Navan Business Park to accommodate Generali PanEurope’s Headquarters and Generali International’s Irish base. This gives Meath a vote of confidence in the future of the economy.”
The Insurance group employs 108 people and is also building its headquarters in Co. Meath. The fact that the jobs will be in Navan and the headquarters will be in Co. Meath, means it’s good news “on the double” for the county and the country on a whole.
Minister Dempsey added: “The new jobs in Navan include actuaries, technical product specialists and other skilled roles. It is a major vote of confidence in the county and the economy generally. I am very proud to be part of a Fianna Fáil led Government that continues to maintain employment and encourage major investments and expansions such as this insurance group.”
Generali PanEurope has been operating in Navan since 1999. Generali PanEurope is also due to expand its European variable annuity business, which is based at Smithfield in Dublin. This means a number of additional roles will be created at the city centre operation.

Construction on this project will begin in August and is expected to be completed in 12 months. This announcement today puts a new focus on Meath as an attractive location in which to expand existing, and locate new companies and I warmly welcome this development.”
