Limerick students give O’Dea sneak preview of projects entered in BT Young Scientist Exhibition

Minister for Defence Willie O’Dea TD has this afternoon visited over 30 Limerick students taking part in the BT Young Scientist Exhibition at the RDS in Dublin.

“It was an honour to have met the students from Limerick schools taking part in the BT Young Scientist Exhibition today and to see their outstanding projects. There are 22 projects in total from Limerick covering a wide range of areas and issues. They have done themselves, their schools, their parents and Limerick proud and I personally congratulated each student and their teachers on their great work and I wished them well in this competition. I have no doubt Limerick will come out on top in many categories as it has done in previous years.

"The city and county has an excellent track record in the BT Young Scientist Exhibition and I am confident after getting a sneak preview of the diverse and unique projects entered by our students that Limerick will once again triumph. I was extremely impressed with each project and the passion shown by the students. These students are the future of our country and based on what I saw and those I met today this country’s future will be very bright indeed,” stated Minister O’Dea.

The BT Young Scientist Exhibition is open to the public from Thursday January 14th 2010.
