Deputy Michael P. Kitt has welcomed the announcement today by Iarnród Éireann that the 1st phase of the Western Rail Corridor, the Limerick to Galway rail line will commence on 29th March, 2010.
‘I am very pleased to see that this new route costing €106.5million will be officially launched and be operational to the public from Tuesday 30th March following the completion of the rebuilding of the Ennis to Athenry line and the receding of flooding between Limerick & Ennis’.
This service will provide five services in each direction, Monday to Saturday serving all stations en route, with four services each way on Sundays, concluded Michael Kitt.
