Kildare farmers granted over €11.4 million under Farm Waste Management Scheme – Fitzpatrick

Kildare farmers benefited from over €11.4 million under the Farm Waste Management Scheme according to local Fianna Fail TD, Michael Fitzpatrick.

“The Farm Waste Management Scheme was one of the largest and most successful on-farm investment schemes in the history of the State. The Scheme ran from 2006 – 2010 and in that time Kildare farmers benefited with grants over €11.4 million.”

“The Farm Waste Management Scheme is a clear indication of this Government’s commitment to Irish farmers and the rural economy.”

“In these tough financial times, I know that the Farm Waste Management Scheme was very important for the local farmers and the generous grant aid of up to 70% in some cases was of real assistance.”

“Over 90% of the total funding of the scheme has now been paid out and it represents vital infrastructural investment in the Irish rural economy. I am pleased that so many Kildare farmers were able to avail of the Scheme,” concluded Deputy Fitzpatrick.
