Kenny’s health policy admission both astounding and worrying – Andrews

“Reports today that Enda Kenny is either unwilling or unable to spell out to the Irish people the cost implications of his party’s health policy, are both astounding and deeply worrying," according to Barry Andrews, TD, Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Health and Children.

“Yesterday, Fine Gael announced the party’s plan to privatise the Irish health system but 24 hours later Enda Kenny has refused or been unable to tell the Irish people just how much the proposal will cost.  Surely, the Irish public is entitled to know how much “Faircare” will cost.”

“The fact that Enda Kenny is willing to press ahead with such a policy despite being unsure of the costs for patients, let alone the taxpayer, is reckless.”

“This election is about clear choices.  The least that should be asked of all parties is to level with the Irish public and tell them the costs of their various proposals.  To date, Fine Gael has failed to do this," concluded Barry Andrews.
