Dublin South West T.D. Charlie O’Connor has said the receiver appointed to the company trading as Citywest Hotel, Golf and Leisure must focus on protecting around 400 jobs at the complex.
“This is one of the biggest hotels in the Europe. Hundreds of people are employed at the complex and many of them are from Tallaght. I am very concerned for them as I know this will come as a major shock. I am appealing to the receiver to prioritise job protection,” said Deputy O’Connor.
“I am pleased to hear that it is the intent of the receiver to keep the hotel complex open for business as a going concern. My immediate concern is for the protection of the jobs.”
“I want to say that what has happened with the appointment of a receiver should in no way reflect on the work of the staff at Citywest. I will be discussing this very important issue for Tallaght with the Taoiseach and the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation Batt O’Keeffe,” concluded Deputy O’Connor.
