Minister for Lifelong Learning, Seán Haughey, has highlighted the proposed works programme of the Parks and Landscape Services Division of Dublin City Council for the North Central Area for 2011, which is over and above the standard ongoing maintenance operations.
“In Fairview Park there are proposed improvement works, a children’s playground, a performance area and seasonal bedding display area. In St. Anne’s Park, there will be a planned improvement to the treatment of its southern boundary, with the removal of a high wall and replacement with a low stone wall. Tree planting is also scheduled to take place in the area of recent basic landscaping works close to the junction of James Larkin Road and Mount Prospect Avenue”.
“There are plans to install a path system and fencing to control vehicle and pedestrian movement at the new All Weather Facility on Clontarf Road. Completion of general tree pruning operations will be undertaken on the inner line of trees at Griffith Avenue.”
“This news will be welcomed by park users and local residents and Dublin City Council is to be congratulated for its progressive programme of improvements for our local amenities. The Parks and Services Division is to be particularly complimented for its continued attention to both Fairview Park and St. Anne’s Park.”
