Fianna Fáil TD for Limerick Niall Collins has criticised Labour leader Eamon Gilmore for giving a speech at his party’s conference in Galway dedicated to the economy which failed to outline any budgetary policy.
“This is the same party that only managed to publish their banking policy last month, 18 months after the financial crisis began.”
“In his address Deputy Gilmore has yet again shown that he's good on the attack but is missing when it comes to the business of serious policies to get Ireland through the recession. As we've seen in other parts of Europe, only a commitment to action over rhetoric allows a country to turn the corner and build for recovery”, concluded Deputy Collins.
