There is good news in Galway today with the announcement of 20 new jobs at global software security firm Lumension, according to local Fianna Fáil TD Frank Fahey.
The 20 jobs being announced at the Mervue Business and Technology Park-located research and development centre are expected to be filled by the end of the year and are in addition to 30 jobs created at the company last year.
Deputy Fahey said the decision by Lumension to expand its Galway base is a very encouraging boost for Galway City; “Lumension is a global leader in endpoint management and security. It is very encouraging to see it expanding its Galway base so quickly after establishing here.”
“The presence of NUI, Galway and GMIT and the quality of their graduates make Galway perfectly positioned to attract and sustain high quality employers such as Lumension.”
“The announcement by the Government last week that it is to invest unprecedented funding into research-led activities in NUI, Galway is a direct investment in the development of these kind of highly-skilled jobs here in the future. The investment includes €31.5 million for a project called Advancing Medicine through Discovery and €15.9 million for a new arts, humanities and social sciences research building,” he said.
