Funding boost of over €500,000 for Wexford community groups – Browne

Fianna Fáil TD for Wexford, John Browne has welcomed the news that six community groups in Wexford are to benefit from just over €500,000 in Government funding.

“The funding will be awarded to the groups under the Department of Social Protection’s Community Services Programme. The funding is designed to support the community groups in their work. The funds will secure the vital work of the organisations for another three years.”

“A formal contact will issue to the organisations in the coming weeks.”

“This type of funding is essential to the groups concerned to allow them to continue in their work. The groups provide local employment and make a very positive contribution to the local community. I would like to wish them continued success in their work,” concluded Deputy Browne.
