Funding boost for local school playground – Kelly

Cloontagh National School in Longford is to receive a funding boost for their playground according to local Fianna Fail TD Peter Kelly.

“Cloontagh NS will receive €1,353 from the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs for their outdoor play facilities.”

“The grant is awarded under the Primary School Outdoor Play Facilities Enhancement Scheme and can pay for goal posts, nets, basketball hoops and other recreational facilities.”

“This funding is vital for the school so they can provide the playground facilities for children. Investing in sporting facilities for young children encourages structured play time, supporting their health and fitness and helping to build their socialisation skills,” concluded Deputy Kelly.
