Funding boost for Carlow group supporting older people – Nolan

A Carlow group working to support older people is to receive Government funding to assist with their work according to local Fianna Fáil TD MJ Nolan.

“St Catherine’s Community Services Centre on St. Joseph’s Road in Carlow will receive funding of €3,879.00 under the Senior Alert scheme.”

“Senior Alert seeks to assist community organisations who work to support older people who wish to remain in their homes. The funds will help to meet the cost of small security measures such as window and door locks, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and the set up of personal alarms.”

“These small measures can often make the all the difference to older people who wish to remain living in their own homes by increasing their sense of personal security.”

“I would like to commend the work of all at St. Catherine’s and their commitment to older people in particular in our community,” concluded Deputy Nolan.
