Fine Gael Arrogance Inappropriate - Curran

Fianna Fáil’s John Curran TD has responded to Fine Gael’s election campaign arrogance: “Leo Varadkar has a brass neck in passing negative comment on last night leaders debate given Enda Kenny’s position as the undisputed 'Mr No Show' of Irish politics."

“Fine Gael’s arrogance is evident from Leo Varadkar’s description of last night’s debate as a 'B-team' event. This is reminiscent of the same misplaced over-confidence that Enda Kenny displayed at the last election when he boasted that he was buying his new shoes for the Aras days before a single vote had been cast."

“Leo Varadkar’s party leader did not have the courage of his own convictions to even turn-up yet Fine Gael choose to belittle the leaders who did turn up and engaged in constructive debate, not to mention the almost half a million ordinary voters who watched the full debate. Enda Kenny has given a series of ever more bizarre excuses for not participating in the debate. Rather than taking cheap shots, Leo Varadkar might explain clearly to the people why his party leader, who is campaigning to be Taoiseach is not prepared to defend his policies on national television.”
