Delayed FG Manifesto launch is unacceptable - Hanafin

Reports this evening that Fine Gael may not now be publishing their Manifesto until next Tuesday, February 15^th, are unacceptable and treating the electorate with contempt.

Not only will their Leader not participate in adult debate, now it has become apparent that Fine Gael is unwilling to outline its policy platform until AFTER Enda’s first debate!

Since the start of the debate it has become clear that many of Fine Gael’s plans are not fully thought through or fully costed. They just continue give vague platitudes about what they might do – just don’t scratch beneath the surface.

I am now calling on Enda Kenny to move the launch of his Manifesto to Monday at the latest so that Monday night’s debate can be fully informed.

Failure to do this will only add to the impression that they don’t want to show too much of their proposals for fear they will be exposed as flawed and unworkable.

For our part, I believe that Fianna Fáil have a real, costed and workable plan. The people deserve to see whether Fine Gael’s matches up – sooner rather than later.”
