The Clones FRC on McCurtain Street was officially opened yesterday by the Minister for Family and Social Affairs, Mary Hanafin TD, and Deputy Conlon was there to help show Minister Hanafin around the facility.
“The Clones Family Resource Centre offers advice, support and general information to people from all walks of life. Families need support in good times as well as bad, and I want to encourage people to get to know the staff in the centre and the services they provide.
“The Centre has a very dedicated team behind it and many supports are available, such as a parent and toddler group, a drop in centre for education and training opportunities, community integration activities, and much more.”
“The Centre is funded by the Department of Social and Family Affairs under the Family and Community Services Resource Centre Programme. It will receive more than €103,000 in funding this year.”
“This funding will go towards the employment costs of a fulltime Coordinator, a part-time Development Outreach Worker, a part-time Administrator and other day to day costs.”
“The Centre works with a host of voluntary organisations from the greater Clones area and I know that it is a vital support for these groups. I would like to extend my very best wishes to the staff of the Centre on its official opening and encourage members of the wider community to make use of this wonderful facility,” concluded Margaret Conlon TD.
