Byrne welcomes Ógra Fianna Fáil Holiday at Home campaign to Newgrange

Chair of Ógra Fianna Fáil and TD for Meath East, Thomas Byrne has welcomed members of the organisation to Newgrange as part of their Holiday at Home campaign.

“Ógra Fianna Fáil has embarked on a Holiday at Home campaign where they visited various sites of interest around the country in a bid to highlight the great attractions that are an essential part of summer holidays.”

“Domestic tourism provides essential revenue to local communities and helps to safeguard local jobs.”

“Ógra want to encourage people to holiday at home, take in the sights and spend their money at home.”

“Members of Ógra visited Brú na Boinne and Newgrange on their trip through Meath and were delighted with all they saw.”

“The Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre interprets the Neolithic monuments of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth. The extensive exhibition includes a full scale replica of the chamber at Newgrange as well as a full model of one of the smaller tombs at Knowth. It really is a unique experience and well worth a visit from those who are holidaying at home.”

“I would like to commend members of Ógra on their Holiday at Home campaign,” concluded Deputy Byrne.
