Bunscoil na mBráithre Críostaí (CBS), Ennis included in schools building programme - Dooley

Local Fianna Fáil T.D. Timmy Dooley has welcomed the announcement that Bunscoil na mBráithre Críostaí (CBS), Ennis has been approved by the Minister for Education and Science, Batt O’Keeffee T.D. to begin the design process of upgrade works at the school.

Deputy Dooley said "This is great news and I’m delighted for the CBS, its pupils, teachers and parents alike. Since being elected to Dáil Eireann in 2007 I have made ongoing representations on behalf of the CBS to both Minister Batt O’Keeffe and his predecessor Minister Mary Hanafin."

Deputy Dooley added "This investment clearly demonstrates the Government’s commitment to investing in the education of our young people. The extension, when in place will provide our school children and teachers with a more suitable environment in which to learn and work."

Deputy Dooley further added, "Despite the many demands on the Minister for new school projects nationwide, I’m really pleased that he has chosen the CBS to initiate the design process and progress this long awaited project. I know that the CBS Board of Management have been working on securing funding for this project over the past twelve years and must have, on many occasions, felt as if their efforts were in vain. I know that this case is most genuine and I’m looking forward to seeing progress in the near future."

Deputy Dooley said "While this is a good day for all concerned at the CBS, I am very mindful of the other schools who await movement on their individual projects and I am working with their Boards of Managament and the Minister to progress their developments. In addition to the CBS, work is already well underway at Barefield N.S. and plans are well advanced with regard to the new Ennis National School."

Finally, Deputy Dooley thanked Br. Liam de Róiste, Príomhoide, C.B.S. Bunscoil, for his ongoing commitment to the project.
