Breathnach welcomes €7.7 million investment in Louth roads

Cllr Declan Breathnach, Fianna Fáil Candidate for Louth, has welcomed an investment announcement of €7.7 million in our county’s roads by Minister Pat Carey under the National Roads Allocations for 2011.

Almost €4.2 million of this investment will be used for the N53 realignment from Barronstown to Newtownbalregan which was of major concern to residents in the area for many years. Other measures include safety, maintenance, bridge rehabilitation and minor pavement works on other routes around the county.

Breathnach states that ‘even under the present economic difficulties it is vital we continue to invest in our roads as important infrastructure and to help the communities served by these roads.’
