There’s good news for Letterkenny school Colaiste Ailigh today, according to local Fianna Fail TD Niall Blaney.
The Minister for Education and Skills Tánaiste Mary Coughlan TD has confirmed that it is included in the latest round of schools being developed under Public Private Partnership that are now being offered to the market.
“This is great news for the students and staff of Coláiste Ailigh. The new, five classroom school will provide permanent accommodation for 350 mixed pupils.
“It will comprise of two lecture rooms, a music and drama area, maths and social studies rooms as well as art/craft, home economics and other specialist rooms.
“A PE Hall of will also be provided, along with four hard play areas and pitches.
“Subject to the tendering process, it is expected that construction will start in early 2012.
“Credit is due to the staff and principal at Coláiste Ailigh and I want to congratulate them on this positive announcement today,” concluded Niall Blaney TD.
