Kerry South TD John O’Donoghue has learned that a grant of €404,553 is being provided for the proposed Foilmore Community Centre. The money has been sanctioned by Minister for Rural Affairs and Kerry native, Pat Carey TD, for the Foilmore Community Centre Action Group and will go towards the construction of the new facility outside Cahirciveen.
“I’m delighted that this funding has been made available,” said Deputy O’Donoghue. “The Foilmore Community Centre Action Group made a very strong case to secure this funding and their work on behalf of the new facility has been outstanding. They deserve immense praise for all they have done to get to the project to this stage.”
“The people in Foilmore are members of a very active community which has had tremendous success through the years in social, cultural and sporting pursuits. They are a tightly knit community which cares for the people who live in it and are always looking to make life better throughout the locality.”
“I was delighted to have been able to assist in this effort to provide a focal point for their community. I look forward to seeing it go to construction in the near future and I hope it will provide a great resource to the local people for many, many years,” Deputy O’Donoghue concluded.
